[QUOTE=trinis2001,Nov 5 2007, 03:18 AM]The day everyone realizes that at some point in time (not now though) - and if the S undergoes no further development, a stock si IS going to be faster than the S -

Some answers found here:
www.8thcivic.com

I have one of each: 2006 S2000 & 2007 Si.

My Si (slightly modified) is not too far off my S2k (0-60 & 1/4mi.)

Once you seriously modify your S, your S will be much faster than your civic can ever be.

RWD > FWD.

I think there are far more 11-second Civics than 11-second S2000's.

I think there are far more civics than s2000s.

But I would imagine that it's probably cheaper and easier to make an 11 second civic because of that market size.

Exactly. Old Civics are both cheap and common, so they're a common choice when someone wants to build a really quick drag car on a reasonable budget; And, because they are commonly hotrodded, the aftermarket is large and highly competative. There is also a larger body of experience in building really quick Civics.

LOL, anyway, wouldn't buying an S2000 because it was quicker than a Civic be a little weird.

can't compare a coupe or sedan with an all purpose built sports car.

they're 2 completely and utterly different cars.

the potential for each cars are completely different. overall, you'll always come out on top with the s2k. if you lose the race, you'll still get the girl.

yes s2k its quicker in general, and in a straight line run on the street. but ummmm, what about around a circuit? you'd be very surprised what a stock 07/08 Si will be able to do vs. a stock s2k with the right driver........we've tested it out up here that's for sure lol.
