2007 Honda s2000 blown engine STOCK
the car had issues before you bought it, and you bought it as-is.
it sounds like the 110 point inspection will not help you out since it does not include anything that relates to inspecting the functioning of the engine.
the fact that they are trying to figure out the problem seems that if the problem existed before they sold it to you, they would do something about it. otherwise, they would just tell you to F--- OFF regardless of when the damage occurred because it was sold as-is.
hopefully they are nice to you. good luck.

The only way I could see an over-rev causing the scenario that they have put together is if the over-rev damaged the oil pump and caused it to fail. A single over-rev is so instantaneous that at worst you MAY see damage to a rod bearing (would result in noticeable knocking before it ever got to the point where the engine would seize), failure of the rod itself (i.e. broken/bent and would make a nice hole in the block and/or be very loud knocking), or failure of something like the connecting pin (would launch the pisoton and totaly hose the valves on that cylinder).
This is certainly not what happend with your car. Either way an over-rev would have to be fairly significant to cause bottom end damage, and if this were the case I would expect significant damage to the head. The only way what they are saying would make sense is if the rev-limiter was changed and it was reved beyond what it should be for a period of time, then MAYBE something like this COULD happen.

I have not read all the post, so sorry if this was already said.
On a 2007 an over-rev will be stored. It will store the max RPM and duration of the over-rev. Unfortunately it does not store when it happened. I know this because I was given the readout with this info from a Honda dealer for my 2007.
EDIT: I believe my car had an over-rev of 9556 RPM for .4 of a second (that is likely the total over-rev time, not time spent at 9556 RPM). My 2007 was black and sold by a dealer in Ohio (Toledo) to someone in the Indianapolis area. All people in the know say that an over-rev like that on an AP2 is nothing to worry about.

so now you can't redline a S2k? lol
This reminds me of a similar thread on the GTO forum.
Where his GTO member got denied dealer warranty because they found excessive rubber on the rear tire wells. O_o
So he just pointed out that Pontiac has a advertisement poster where they have a GTO doing a burnout. LOL
Warranty reinstated after that chat.

How much time does it take to do a 150 point inspection? I'm betting that almost all of these are visual and take 1-2 seconds, a few a minute or two and possibly a few 5-10 minutes. Just guessing but the total probably comes to 30 minutes to an hour. Honda Techs', what is it?
I’ve read quite a few post telling the op to contact Honda and/or inquire about the150 point inspection.
Why?
This S2000 is NOT a “Honda Certified Used Car”.
It did NOT go through the Honda 150 point inspection.
It was NOT purchased from a Honda dealer.
It was purchased as an “As-Is” out of warranty vehicle.
A 60K Drivetrain Warranty expires at 60K not 61.5K.
Caveat emptor
To the op:
Sorry to hear about this.
Hopefully the Acura dealer will do the right thing.
Good luck

I agree with s2kPA it dosent look good for you. Alot of the things to CYA seem to be missing or worked around for the car. You have also yet to mention a $ amount. This is some concern if it was a super cheap deal from a dealer I would have taken it to a mechanic prior to making a deal.
