And the 4.77 gears are made by Kia not Mazda.

nooooooo not .003. OEM settings should be around .012-.014 if memory serves correctly. i know the richmond are much tighter than OEM spec, and they are .006 as you know.

The current gears we are shipping have a larger backlash .008 instead of the older gears that were .006. This is due to the coating that we used to have on the gears.

From the Helms manual, Section 15-11
Backlash
Standard: 0.09-0.11 mm (0.0035-0.0043 in)
Minimum: 0.05 mm (0.0020 in)
Differance Range: 0.07mm (0.0028 in)

So YESSSSS

OEM is much tigher then the Richmond specs.
