I have removed the spare and tools already! I'm also not a fan of the way carbon fiber looks in relation to body parts. If I got carbon fiber parts... I'd end up just painting them to look stock
In reference to my cutting bolts question, I actually read on this forum that the guy saved 100 pounds... I realize that our car probably does not have this many bolts, but I'm just curious to see if anyone has attempted it and how much they saved. Even if only 10 pounds, it'd be worth it to me.
I read that there is some odd 15 pound rubber piece under the dash attached to the firewall... is that needed? What about heat shields under the engine bay? Are those that necessary?
BTW, In the group buy forum there is a single outlet spugen cat back exhaust for under 600 dollars that looks to be an excellent buy. Does anyone have that exhaust and can they give thumbs up in terms of looks, performance, and weight savings?

"With carbon body mods and the usual interior stripping, ASM's S2000 weighs a lean 2,151 pounds (without the roll cage, ASM says the car dips down about another 100 pounds). Combined with an engine that puts down a claimed 305 hp, it's not hard to see how this car is capable of incredible speed. "

If you want to gut your car so it's not worth anything, get a 1969 Nissan 1600 or 2000 Roadster and put the S engine into it. You'll have a 1950 pound car that will really move. Try running your car at an autocross against one of those oldies with a stock 2 liter from 1969-1970 in it and see how well you do. Light weight was around 35 years ago, too.
Let's see, there's a lot of things you can remove...
Remove the front and rear swaybar. Savings of probably 40-50lbs
Cut the front beam that goes below the intake, you don't need it, just replace it with a shiny strutbar.
Take out the rollbars, unneccessary because the Cusco ones save tons of weight and are bling.
And finally you can try removing the high "X-bone" frame, that should probably save you the most weight.
