Anyone keep their S2000 Stock?
hahaha for sure that's my moms Subaru, shes killing me but shes an older lady, needs that garage, but I live in a nice neighborhood, and invested in a solid car cover (seal skin) so I should be good, but believe me she turned down an extra 200 on the rent shes so stubborn about her garage....on top of that its a lease! lol
Over the years there have been enough stolen car threads in the NY Metro forum to justify caution about leaving the car out in the open. https://www.s2ki.com/forums/new-york...1136141/page2/
I'm not sure what a solid car cover is, but if you're willing to pay $200 a month, check around the neighborhood for some garage space - or get yourself a LoJack or similar form of vehicle tracking / anti-theft device.

Holy shit I just read that whole thread and it really unnerved me but I didn’t know they were so highly sought after and stolen in the northeast to say the least.....ima have to tuck it behind my other vehicle or park it behind all the vehicles Blocked in for the winter covered and secure....I thought about the garage rental thing but reading that makes me want to keep it closer to me now.....may have to make the old lady an offer she can’t refuse...lol...but reading that it looks like it’s not necessarily a neighborhood thing but more like a black market ring network type shit....thanks for the heads up though I’m gonna need to stay vigilant...and will def look into LoJack or some kinda tracker.. didn’t realize it was such a target
it is but u gotta know the right dmv.... if u want your plates on it within the week call schoharie county town clerk, I was helped by a guy named Larry, I fedexed him all my paperwork and a return envelope and a blank check written to the county clerk and they hooked my up....I next dayed that bad boy got it back within 4 days....but after having to search through each dmv to try to get a live person was a pain in the ass....I got the paperwork literally the day the dmv closed and it sat in my driveway for the whole spring basically... I give u the number and the guy I spoke to if u wanna inquire
Westchester is probably not a high risk area like the major cities but your car will not look the same this time next year if you leave it in the yard all winter. Just how it is.
Someone mention the Corolla? I have one on my shopping list. Looking for the NASCAR model. No mods needed that I can see.

No. I had in mind that you would go to your neighbors or your uncle Ned and ask them. For $200 a month you were willing to pay your mother, they might open it up to you. My theory is that someone has a spare bay that they aren't using. Put fliers in the mailboxes. The guy across the street from me rents out one side of his garage. Bums me out, because I would have rented it if I had known. I rent two bays in an old barn about 4 miles from my house. You can rent in a commercial storage unit facility, but that is quite expensive and risky if you don't pay the rent (think Storage Wars where the locker is auctioned off). Maybe see if you can find some secure garage space on Craigslist. But if that doesn't work out, get the vehicle tracking device for peace of mind. Cost will be about the same or less.
In northwest Connecticut there are places where you can store the car for the winter at fairly reasonable expense. The problem is that you don't really have access to the car until you pull it out of storage in the spring.

I like to keep mine stock with OEM+ improvements if any. I did quite a bit to my '06 to revert it back to stock. The car was quite jumped on and you could tell the previous owner either had no taste, was broke, or didn't know what he was doing. Likely a combination of all three. A potential "future classic" needs to be kept as stock as possible. From the previous owner there are Tien springs (1" lower) which I just live with. I upgraded to 4 piece honda access floor mats. Also put in the OEM red stitched boot from the UK ultimate edition as well as the CR style knob except with red lettering. If I do any mods they will be factory+ or OUS type options.
Did do a Kenwood Excelon BT head unit which is unlike me in general but I matched the illumination color and it sits behind the lid anyway. Really need to have bluetooth phone pairing these days. To each his own. Its just that I feel that too many mods negatively effect the value of cars. Someone's dream is always another person's nightmare especially if the mods were not done well.

no, there are already square holes cut into the X brace.
the only challenging part is to cut through the carpet in the right places to expose the square holes.
the instructions tell you generally where to cut.
the good thing is even if you mess up the new mats will cover up the wreckage.
