Kind of odd not to even consider a 2000-2001. I looked for the cleanest AP1 I could find, regardless of year. You could always upgrade the top later. And stereo, eh, I like listening to the car just as much.

I bought in 2007, it wasn't hard to find a clean '02-03. And I didn't want to upgrade the top later. And I wanted to easily replace the stock crap speakers with decent components, since done, because I dailied the car in Chicagoland traffic for 4 years. See how someone else's usage makes their preferences not so "odd"?

this car started life as an 01.. plastic window was all messed up.. top had a few wounds, a tree branch saw to the plastic windows last breath.. and I had to face this decision.. I went with plastic,, why.. cause it give me a feeling I can see something more.. if an when the top is up...

however it's a weight saving thing.. has to be at least an hp or a tq or something.. 10 % i'm sure plastic over glass...

I agree with NDAZONE. I am an original owner of a 2001 with 28000 miles. Had my top vandalized a few years back and made a point of replacing it with an OEM top with plastic window. Want to keep the car as original as possible. Also, rarely take the car out now and when I do it is top down.

I have only driven the car with the top up maybe 20 times in over 14 years. The day I bought the car off the showroom floor I put the top up anticipating rain. The crease in the center of the window distorted the view a bit even on a brand new top. However, when the plastic window sits in the warm sun, the window flattens out and visibility is fine.

Hope this helps, I have the old plastic rear window which sucks ass. I'm getting my entire top replaced with a new top that comes with the glass window. I was quotd at $1,400 installed. Keep in mind that i stay in Orange County CA.
A little pricy, but you pay what you get for.
I did have a question regarding supercharging my ap1 S2k. Being in Cali smog is an issue. Advise or anything is greatly appreciated.

Does it make it easier? I have a hard top and a glass window. The only thing difficult about the hardtop install is getting the top lowered without scraping the paint. The window doesn't really have anything to do with that.

Oh, and as I have to do it solo, I solved it with a hard top winch...
