I've been thinking about supercharging, but as a catastrophist by profession, first I was worried about the warranty issue, then the #4 cylinder issue. I had never thought about the effect of a new pulley required by the supercharger until I read and meditated on Cdelena's post. This is a potentially serious problem. Honda has certainly balanced this little sucker to run at 9000 revs. I guess the CT pulley must be longer to accommodate the drive for the supercharger. Must change the harmonics of this critical loaded-spinning part. I think it would be very important to the longevity of the engine to get rid of that vibration.

What does comptech have to say about it? Mike, I am sure you have or will be reading this thread.

Since this doesn't seem to be an isolated problem, has comptech researched it and what has been found?

They're aware that 3 of the 15 kits have reported a hesitation. They say they are working on a solution, but they haven't done much to keep us updated (only complaint). The MAP Sensor adapter doesn't appear to be bleeding out the boost consistently the way it should be, possibly the valve is getting stuck.

Hi Wesmaster

I got a ride in one of the silver supercharged S2000s here in SoCal, felt the hesitation in lower gears and the rush in 3rd. I didn't notice the vibration Krazik reports, but I think the vibration is potentially a more serious problem than the hestitation.

Yes, exactly. I know they will fix the hesitation, But I plan to purchase an SC and I want to better understand what this vibration is, and how comptech claims it as normal.

Check two things: 1) Is the oil outlet at the bottom of the supercharger coming in contact with the frame cross-member? It caused a bad vibration until we cut a "divet" out of the cross-member.

2) Check to see if the top of the airbox is touching the hood when it is closed. A not so bad vibration.

The shifter is like a vibrator on steroids at times..low rpms not too bad but at higher revs LOTS OF VIBRATING...
Yeah, this took some getting used to, I'm used to riding with my hand almost always on the shifter, you know - incase you need to dump on someone. I've gotten used to the "vibrator on steriods" by now, but I haven't found any good uses for it.
