I installed the MAP Sensor Override Circuit this morning....
Yes it works... it works very well indeed... The throttle response is very very smooth... You cant tell you are transitioning into or out of boost (manifold pressure > 1 atm). There has always been some funkiness in the way the engine responds to various changes in throttle position, non of that is there any longer. I installed the Override circuit right next to the ECU as i didnt think the various components were up to the engine bay temps... be carefull removeing the kick panel... it looks like its 2 peices but its not... you need to lift up the door sill to remove the kick panel.
I drove Dave's car today and compared to mine his is much smoother when accelerating. I will be doing the electronic fix as well as soon as I get my map sensor. My car is still running very good. I do not believe it is 100% after driving dave's car but none the less still hauls butt and no hesitations.

Oh man... after reading all of the post's here. I'm good to go

Stupid questions though... would any of this benefit if one installed an intercooler? How much performance gain would we see?

Is this a record for the most replies to a post?

Shad called me this afternoon to talk check valves. Told him that I tried the latest solution for a couple days but "couldn't take it anymore" and had to revert to an earlier hybrid version that worked correctly.
He talked me into putting it back on and driving it for a couple more days so that I could give him details as they relate to temp, weather, load condition, RPM, ........., throttle position and any other parameters in an effort to establish a consistent pattern.
So in the name of R&D (and the fact that I love all you guys), I will subject myself to the torments of the latest setup, as a stepping stone to help the team navigate the way toward the ultimate solution (hopefully electronic).
We need all parties involved on the same page (wink, wink) if you know what I mean. j/k
In all seriousness, I think Comptech will eventually reach the same conclusion that some of us think is inevitable (electronic device), we just need to let their process run its course. Their deliberate and thorough methods are what we normally praise, unfortunately, in this case, it feels like their thoroughness is hindering us. This is just part of what being on the leading edge of development for a limited market product (SC) on a limited market product (S2000) entails.

(Harry, hang in there!!!!!!!!!)

Note: This latest setup has 100% solved the ECU retardation of timing problem, it just suffers some acute transient throttle inconsistencies. There is definite progress with each iteration!

Yup, It certainly does require more care... I've managed to grind both 2nd and 3rd a couple of times during hard accel. Things just happen so much faster...

But the problem with the check valve that we are speaking of does not occur during shifting, only while in gear and changing from accel to decel or vise-a-versa
