okay, let's clear things up a bit

weight reduction will NOT gain any horsepower. it'll increase a lot of aspects in performance, but will not add any power to the car

7 pounds does not equal horsepower. even if you did gain hp from losing weight, if someone dropped 70 lbs off the car would it equal 10 hp? i think not..otherwise just by removing my backseats/spare tire i think i could be able to take a s2k

rule of thumb is 100 lb for every .1 off your 1/4, but that isn't exactly cumulative, either, just a rough idea

NO, losing weight is NOT going to give you a gain in horsepower. YES, what I was trying to convey was hp to weight ratio.

What I meant is that the loss in weight has the cumulative effect of a gain in horsepower. Losing weight is almost always good for performance.

look at why Lotus Elise is fast with only 190hp and you have your answer.

weight saving mods that i did:
-Gutted softop+motor, add Mugen HT -40lb
-Gutted trunk (sparewheel+tools, carpet) -35lb
-Gutted interior (all carpet+plastics) -45lb
-Gutted dash (no vents) -10lb
-Gutted SRS airbags (no passenger or driver) -15lb
-remove stereo (speakers and all) -10lb
-remove misc harnesses+cables -5lb
-remove windshield sparyer reservior -5lb
-5lb TopSecret Ti exhaust -50lb
-Toda headers -10lb
-Catless, testpipe -5lb
-remove AC (blower+condensor+lines+compressor) -50lb
-remove stock seats and replace with bride's -35lb
-Top secret CF hood -8lb
-remove stock intake to j's CF -7lb
-mugen lightweight alum radiator -7lb
-Spoon light weight battery -15lb
-ATS CF clutch+flywheel -11lb
-Spoon 4pot brake kit -5lb

So we have 368lb shaved.

There are still many weight to be removed.

I ate a salad this afternoon. It is like increasing my S' hp by 0.06hp:-)

j/k weight reduction is definitely a plus to any car.

Just curious, does anyone know the lightest S out there. So far 2,400 lbs is the lightest I've ever heard.

Some pictures will be nice

You can kind of test the difference in performance by doing the opposite.

When I add my 100 lb gf to the car. Sure it adds a lot more noise and
screaming. But it doesn't really do jack to my handling or performance.
