what do you do with all that extra space where the stock airbox should've been?

Holy cow I was doubting any horsepower gain at all, because on my old 95 integra gsr I installed an aem intake/comptech headers/tanabe exhaust and the butt dyno didn't feel any different and the dyno's I've seen on stock cars with just cai barely even gained any hp. Nice dyno btw.

Move to Wyoming. We've got enough cold air to go around.

I'm looking for proven HP and torque gains and I'm skeptical of the info 4IGS2000 has posted. Why? Because I have to ask the following questions:

1) Why did the stock S2000 dyno so low at Dynospot racing? Even the numbers after the intake was installed are lower than my stock S2000.

2) They should have used the same Dyno the second time for a proper comparison, I don't believe that the "calibrations should be close."

The best way to make a proper comparison is to only vary one parameter, in this case the CAI. In the above data, other factors such as temperature, pressure, and the dynomometer were all changed.

One of the Atlanta S2000 owners (850) did a proper comparison of the K&N filter charger CAI. He went to the shop, dyno'd the stock engine for a baseline. He then put the CAI on (at the shop) and dyno'd the car again 2 hours later. He showed a peak HP gain of 4+ HP. I'll search for the link and post it soon.

Here is the link:

One difference between 4G's intake and the K&N is that the K&N sits high in the engine compartment and doesn't get any "ram air"effect like the others might, however, this can't be seen on a dyno anyway.

The base line number does seem unusually low, a 42 HP(18%) drop does seem excessive.

I thought these things were putting out around 210 HP to the wheels.

Those figures are HUGE gains. I'm very skeptical as well.

I have the Comptech and I'm happy with it, but I can assure you that I did not pick up 10 extra ponies. Have to say though IMO the sound and looks are much nicer with the Comptech.

The S2000 can loose up to 20% from flywheel to rwd HP. Its a known fact.
