Civic to S2K

Hi everyone, my first post, normally hang out round at Civiclife.net but been eyeballing the S2K for ages however due to the usual: Age, Fuel, Redundancies, Tax / Insurance etc i hadn't really taken it seriously about getting one but started looking again...
My main question is How many people here have come from a Honda Civic to an S2k (all years but preferably EG or EK) and kept their S2k or even people who got an S2k and then decided they preferred something about their Civic more, whether that be cost to keep the S2k vs Civic or Handling etc...
Id really appreciate any feedback little or large, im trying to work out if its worth "upgrading" as parts for the Civic are cheaper and running costs are gonna be quite a bit cheaper (i assume) such as tax isn't going to go up as drastically as post 2001 cars such as my EM1 - Id guess that the S2k has a considerably beefy engine at 220bhp? but how does it handle in comparison to a front wheel drive civic thats got coilovers and setup properly...
One of my main concerns is that i always imagine RWD will try to kill you every time you go round a corner lol - Probably massively over thinking the RWD situation but its a consideration, and winter, i did acctualy manage to get about this winter in inch's of snow with a lowered EM1 on Parada Spec II so i was quite chuffed but i know a guy who thought it was a good idea to do the same last winter and decided reversing up a drive on snow was a good idea in his S2k and subsequently slid back down the drive and through his garage door and thats at 1mph LOL
I think the thing thats kick started this "i want an S2k" is that my friend went from a hot hatch to an MR2 Roadster and after sitting in it i really liked the confined space, believe it or not, iv always loved the low down look of S2k's (spesh when you do something like this to it:
So any input good or bad would be appreciated!

I took that
@ BOTI in Woodburn, OR last summer Thats the car with the Forged Performance Prototype turbo kit
I came from an EJ1
(94 civic coupe (EX with the D16Z6: the first stock civic with
) Modding the S2000 is way more expensive and more rewarding IMO. Butt I would never go back

One set of tires per year if your s2000 is a DD keep that in mind.

Running/maintenance costs for a S2000 are definitely higher than for a Civic...
But the S2000 is pretty much perfect right out of the box, IMO. It would take multiple thousands of dollars for a Civic to perform as well as a S2000. And at the end of the day, it's still a Civic.

Ive owned over fifteen civics, integras, crx's and i love all hondas. had a eg hatch h22 swapped, ek hatch with built high comp gsr. A flawless electron blue si. I just got to the point where i didnt want ta have to tinker with modded and built, swapped civics anymore. I got the s and love it its decently fast, handling is amazing, stops fast, and has the most beautiful sounding motor. You will fall in love with everything about the s. and it is more expensive but so worth it. Ive put about fifty thousand hard miles on my s putting the car at 110000 miles and its never had a single mechanical issue and i beat on it. Great car you wont be disappointed. not to mention all the heads youll turn and complements youll receive. I also live in kansas and we just got eight inches of snow the other day and up to ten falling as we speak and i was always scared to death to drive the s in the snow but i got a good set of rear snow tires and i make it everywhere with ease. Never been stuck. it actually does better than all my civics did traction wise. you just have to really respect the car and be cautious cause she does tend to get alittle side ways.
I've gone pretty much full circle with Honda...
- '79 Honda Accord H/B (given to me by my parents when I was still in High School)
- '89 CRX Si - My first brand new car (I was 22 when I bought it).
- '93 Del Sol Si (wish I'd kept the CRX, but shortly after getting this car I got a company car, so this become a rarely driven garage queen). Sigh...my grandpa traded his '65 Mustang convertible for a Maverick in 1970, so I guess poor decisions like this run in the family.
- '03 S2000 - redeemed myself.

I do miss my civic...it was a lot of fun. But I would never miss it more than my s2000

I dont even track my S and I can easilly go through at least 3 sets of rear tires a year.
