CL rear view mirror
I have in my possession a 2001 CL-S rear view mirror. I want to know if it is possible to wire this baby up to use in my S. It is one of those ones that dims instead of just flipping it up. anybody heard of doing this before?
Not sure how the mirror works, but it probably just requires a 12V lead and a ground, in which case you could tap into the dome light wiring which runs across the windshield frame. If this is the case, do a search for radar detector hardwiring, I know a few people tapped into the aforementioned dome light wires to power a detector.
This would be pretty nice, especially with the number of people in my neck of the woods with big 'ol trucks that blind me combined with the ineffectiveness of flipping the mirror up.
Good luck!

Do a search in google.com for "auto-dimming mirror installation". there are a lot of websites with instructions. This one looks good (with pics): http://www.drivingaid.com/images/comp-temp...nstructions.pdf
BTW, you should have a harness with the CL-S mirror; if you haven't, you may be able to get away with wiring it directly to a switched 12 V supply.

I installed floorboard lights by tapping into the wires going to the top light and the power from these wires in switched from the doors and also when the trunk opens etc...
How would you have power there all the time the switch is on? Or is it the negative side that is switched and you just pick up a negative elsewhere?

I actually don't like those auto-dimming mirrors. It makes the mirror too dark for my tastes. I don't flip the mirror up, but adjust it so that I can adjust my head to avoid bright headlights that are in the rear view.
I generally prefer to not have a dimmed mirror at all. However, the autodimmin one in my MDX is actually quite good - it never gets too dark like the manual dimming ones - esp when you don't need them - which in the MDX is most of the time. However, in the S2000, I really need them when there is another S2000 behind me
