I have an ap1 with the original plastic window; leaving it down creases the window and will probable cause it to wear out sooner (may replace the top this summer, will go to glass window).

I usually leave it up and latched. I will leave the top down only if I know I will be back to the car within 30 minutes or so. Otherwise, top is always up and latched when the car is unoccupied.

Question for the guys that leave the top down parked when out in public.

Do you not have any concern for the dust and pollen build up in the interior? Or a chance that a bird will shit in your car? Or the damage to the interior materials from UV rays?

I wouldn't dream of leaving the top down when parked outside, yikes!

There's still plenty of sunlight coming in through the windshield and side windows. I use UV protectant (303) on the dash, door panels, and seats (along with most of the rest of the interior actually). Pollen/dust happen all the time just from driving the damn thing--it's really annoying but it happens either way.

The bird shit one...well, I've driven either a convertible or t-top car for 8.5 of the 10 years I've been driving and that has yet to happen. Knock on wood

At home I just leave it however it is when I get there, in public it really depends on where I am and how long I am going to be gone. If it's down I try and leave it that way but sometimes I worry and put it up
