Definitive S2000 CR Thread

The AC and Radio are options. Honda product planner said they will build as many as they can sell. There are only projections on volume, not limitations on what they will build.
Anyone know if the new dash will be standard on the 2008 regular S2000 or is it only for the CR?

It would be really dumb to do this in Arizona though
Hmm. In order for the CR to be legal for SCCA stock classes w/o the radio and A/C, the lack thereof has to be a factory option. For example, the dealer installed OEM lip and spoiler are technically illegal if you want to run as a stock.

Trivium, its the point that Honda could have done so much more................If this is going to cost 5-10k above the normal s2k and thats all you get..........
Honda could build a lot of things, including a super muscular S2000, that lays a 150 ft wheel when it accelerates. Some people here want that car. Never mind that it wouldn't be a S2000 anymore or that it would cost another $30k to build. Others people want a superhandling light weight car, and within the bounds of building a safe car that can be used on the street and track, the CR takes some positive steps in that direction. Could it be better, sure, but at what price?

Anyone knows if they change gearing on the CR?

Until we know how much the CR will cost, any more posts to this thread are a waste of bandwidth, including this one.

Please go troll somewhere else. This is not the worst thing Honda could've done and in fact they imporved on the S2000. If you are too blind or too stupid to see how they imporved the car then I feel bad for you.
An s2ki member trolling the forums?? That's a first! Whether or not the CR is an improvement on the S2000 is purely subjective. Appearance wise, I don't believe it is. It still has the same power plant and generates the same numbers. It may be 2 seconds faster around the track then the base model, but let's face it, how many S2000 owners track their cars? And I'll wonder how many CR buyers will track them. Honda made a track-ready car even more track-ready. Great. Sorry if I don't get my jollies off on it like you do.
