That's an awful tiny green speck to keep an eye on while trying to stay on the track during a time trial, or even inside the cones during an autocross. They could have done much better. Probably will just watch the tach, which will probably be much easier to keep an eye on. . . . . . will just have to try it an see.

The latest issue of Car and Driver, (and also Motor Trend) has a one-page write-up on the S2000 CR. Essentially all of the technical details mentioned have already been posted on this forum, but the Car and Driver testers said that the S2000 CR was "about three seconds" per lap quicker on the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course than they were able to do with a base S2000.

I would like to see the following cars on the same track, the same day, the same (experienced with the track) driver and THE SAME COMPOUND TIRES:

1.) 2000 original
2.) 2002 F20 w/revised suspension
3.) 2004 F22
4.) 2006 VSA w/DBW
5.) 2008 CR

this perhaps will let us all know just how close (or not) these all are on the track.

If you can bring together the cars, I'll bring my tires and will be happy to drive them all.

Add one more to the list:
6) 2004 with F20C and the new gearing that came with the '04s (whichs means it won't be a US model since we only got the F22C models)

I would even be willing to put the 16s with the special Honda S-02s on the above and put it up against the RE070. Both are Bridgestones and both have a treadwear rating of 140.

Intersting, I would ike to see this too. I think #6) would win. It has the fastest
acceleration combination. Ap2 trans first 4 gears are reduced. It works out to the same as putting 4.44 diff gears in. With the added 1000rpm the F20 has it would work super! With the lightweight 16" wheels it would be even more improved. If you put this combo on the 00 model which weighs about 100pound less then the 04. Now your dominating. 02 model susp. has lighter sway bars so handling isn't as precise. However would be interested to see if it gained any tire grip or not.
