This is an AHM production.

Sorry no way the japanese would engineer this.

I also think the 'Father' was there only for 'publicity'.

AHM has NO taste.
FINALLY SOMEONE SAID IT!

I had a strong feeling in the back of my mind that there would be trouble in the form of the "S2000 CR" since Honda Japan wasn't involved. There's no way Mr. Fukui and his engineers would let something like this roll off the assembly line. I'm suprised he even would let AHM have their way with the US spec S2K.

I still don't understand how AHM came to the conclusion that a S2K suited for a track/circuit would be popular when this type of motorsport isn't even that popular to the average auto enthusiast in the U.S. You'd think they had learned their lesson with the Acura Integra Type R, but I guess not.

Just my opinion.

WOW...it's what I expected, but not what I hoped for.

Honda: You release the Civic Type-R with more hp + 200lb shaved + improved suspension. A car that can match our current s2k on the track and in a straight line. If Emeril were cooking, he'd say BAM!

But for your flagship car...you simply add a bit of salt & pepper. Where's the BAM?

I bet those tires are 90%+ of that time difference, not the fugly body kit, most of the rest goes to the suspension improvements. They could have done almost as well with a stock body S2K I'd bet.

I am truly dissapointed on how this car turned out. They could have taken a Mugen rear spoiler and we would all be happy. They could have came out with a front bumper that looks like the Amuse R1 but even the OEM AP2 front lip looks better. That front lip spoiler looks like a botched up Marga Hills front bumper. The interior is somewhat nice as the seats remind me of the Recaro Tomcats(looks like they used the same material since our seats are made by Recaro). I really like the Radio trim and thats about it. That tonneau cover is hideous, it reminds me of the Veilside tonneau for a reason, but more vile. The blue is something I would be glad to see on a Riced out Civic from the year 2000 but not on an S2000, but I give them the shadow of a doubt on the other two colors that they haven't released yet. The suspension I would pay for if it is in fact better than the AP1 suspension but I cannot justify the height that it sits at now, its just too tall! I would expect a club racer to sit closer to the pavement while still having the travel in the suspension as a normal height S. It is a function over form, but the Form does not have to look this hideous.

I think a they should keep this as a concept car and just sell the parts separately so that the people who does race have the option of using factory suspension parts...but thats just me

Where's the roll bar?? To get on most any track east of the Mississippi with a convertible this is a must. Those tonneau covers are the first things to go in order to install a rollbar. If the wing is not adjustable, that is getting swapped out for one that is. And the front spoiler, WhoTF cares? Cloth seats? Who cares? You can't run harnesses safely, so they have to come out as well. Is the suspension adjustable? .... Oy.

But it WAS TESTED in Japan, on their test course, wouldn't that at least imply that Honda Motor Corp, Japan knew about the car, saw it, and by not doing anything about it, kinda "approved" of it?

I'm disgusted with this car too, but I'm not so sure that we can completely eliminate Honda Japan from the bashing

Broham: What do you mean about the ITR? Sure, there are ricers with ITRs, but a lot of people track them, as you well know You are coming to VIR this year right?

"The result of these changes is a claimed two-second reduction in the S2000 CR
