other forums i've seen haven't been praising it either...of course i wouldn't be surprised if the civic and rsx boards were drooling over it...they're probably trying to figure out if they can fit the lip and wing on their cars.

I'm wondering how long until "CR" badges end up on Civics.

I saw a GTR badge on a white 99-04 model V6 Mustang the other day

GUESS WHAT TYPE OF PERSON WAS DRIVING IT!

(hint, go back a few pages and find the joke someone made about what "division" Honda used to design the CR. Stereotypes are there for a reason )

Bottom line... Everyone was desperately hoping for a true S2000 Type R from Honda with the Type R treatment, and based on what they (Honda) had described and hyped up this introduction, the CR has fallen WELL short of everyone's desires...
Give it a chance to do what is promised dude. A 2 second improvement in lap times at Laguna Seca over a stock S is what is estimated from the suspension upgrades and aero improvements.

The engine is maxed out on power so they reduced weight in places to allow the hardtop addition without a weight penalty. Since hardtops are required for many racing scenarios, it's nice to have it as part of the package.

i think the 2 seconds comes from the tires.

Anyone know what the difference is in terms time of the RE05s vs R-compounds?

What's funny is, the tires they are using are more similiar to the stock 00-03 S2000 tires, which also have the same 140 treadwear rating. When the 04+ came out, they went to a less sticker tire that didn't handle as well.
