so I spoke with someone here at American Honda Motor Corp. he told me...
"i cant tell you too much, but it will be a hardtop/coupe, lightened, more aggressive suspension and it most likely will not have a/c (still deciding)."

i said, "thats all the info you can give me?"

he said "the guesses at Temple of Vtec are really close"

not much info, but at least we know its a hardtop/coupe.

How about something to improve steering feel since S2000 has almost none. Retune the ESP or just can it all together and go non-assisted steering.

Oh alright might as well do this....

wishlist.

coupe-looking like the aprils fool's joke 06 on the home page.

lighter -like 2500lbs.

lower, stiffer suspension.

cloth seats.

at least 260 hp. 2.2l w/ 9k redline.

lower final drive.

factory turbo, and sequential transmission - but I know this won't happen....I can dream though.

Are you kidding? Almost no steering feel? Either you're numb, or you've never driven any other car before.

I've autocrossed many different cars, and the S2000 has a lot of feel/feedback. That was one of the top reasons I bought it.

Any more, or an increased steering ratio would make this car a real handful on the track. I would be surprised if they increased the steering ratio. Good tires and a tuned suspension is all this car needs. If we could fit really fat tires under the car, it would be a lot faster.

Hey guys,

I wanted to include my predictions for the S2000 CR. My thinking is that since Honda is building a "Club Racer" and not a "Type R" that the engine displacement will remain the same. I think its more likely that we're going to see a stripped/tuned version of the current car. Anyway here are my guesses:

- 250-260 HP from current motor
- Removal of Sound Deadening
- Manual Soft Top
- Radio Delete
- AC Delete Option
- Lower Gearing
- Lightweight Wheels
- Stickier Tires
- Larger Brakes
- Stiffer Bushings, Springs & Dampers
- Lower Ride Height
- Retuned sway bars

Let me know what you think.

The S has good steering feel, but not as good as a Miata or BMW e30/e36 M3.

May not stack up to a regular modded S2200, but will the modded regular S2200 stack up to the CR in resale (think collectibility)?
