Definitive S2000 CR Thread
Well there's a fine line between what people on the forum worship as gods greatest S2000 and the CR. If you take an honest look at the "tuner" market you see a lot of cars that aren't too different than the S2000 CR...

I think you hit the nail on the head.

Your point is somewhat valid but the GT3 does not come with a roll bar I believe you are speaking of the GT3RS which is a much stronger platforum using the C4S shell. A very rare car made in limited production for people with bigger pockets than the average s2k driver
you are comparing a $160k design to a $30k design.
I agree the car looks odd but not ugly..well maybe a little
but for people to state "throw a tubro or SC on it" is a little off.
Honda has desinged these to be high reving quick response engines
to FI the car is very typical North America. I have had all kinds of cars
and there is nothing like a well tuned high reving powerplant.
To each their own.

You can get a tequipment roll bar for the regular GT3, as well as extinguisher, etc. Great brakes, dry sump engine (we won't even go there), ec, etc. In any case, track ready, but no race car, once properly aligned, good pads, and fluid, etc. A good used GT3 is about 75k with the race seats, bar, harnesses, etc. This new CR will be, what, 35+? Plus a load of mods.
yeah, I am giving you a hard time - they are different, but just pointing out that the CR is NOT a track car any more than the base S2K is. That is all.
I am boring everyone, so bye!

I'd drive this in a second.

The example you posted above is one of the better efforts at improving the stock S2000. Everything there complements the original design. The Spoon S2000, even with the gaudy yellow-blue theme is another example of a nice-looking car..
Widebody kits do not look good IMHO. It reminds me of the kit cars that were oh-so popular in the 70's and 80's where you could make any VW Beetle look like a poor-man's Lambo.

All the thing needs is some stupid asian graphics on the door and you'll have to watch out for Johnny Tran and the kung fu kids, he'll beat your jetta on the drag strip then kill you when he doesn't get the pink slip.
I love my S and I'm sure this new one would be a blast to drive, but I wouldn't be caught dead riding around in anything with a stupid ass wing like this thing has. I knew a chick that had that wing on her saturn, shaved two seconds off her time!!!!
Now the rims on the otherhand....

Well in regards to the term "Club Racer" i think it depends on your "club".
Its like more expensive golf, http://www.drivefastbesafe.com/ is your golf course and the CR happens to be a driver/iron/wedge(depends how you look at it) etc.
