I suppose, but a hopped up grocery getter that with equal drivers will spank an S2K without a problem on a road course. At least, my lap times are better with an ITR than my S2K, hell I was never passed by an S2K in my GS-R.....

Say what you will, but the ITR is a great car. The S2K is not the same IMO. I still love the S2K, but it's not that special. Flame all you want.. it has plenty of room for improvement.
What are you smoking? This is hardly a comparo. I was expressing my opinion about why this new model variant is called the CR and not Type R. Go back and reread, you failed the first time.

Unfortunately nothing.

The post I quoted you didn't mention "CR" at all, so how were you expressing your opinion on why the CR is not being called a Type-R again? Ok fine, you were inferring it since the S2K isn't a grocery getter, but the NSX must be since it has a Type-R variant right?

I was simply pointing out that a hopped up grocery getter is still an extremely quick track car in stock form, regardless of what it's line started life as.

LOL Do you honestly believe that there's no room for improvement? Or just that the S2K is special? It's a quick roadster that's quite fun to drive and it's a great car, but it's not at all special in my mind. Sorry. That's just my opinion of course, maybe for you it's the most special car in the world, doesn't mean my opinion on that is any more invalid though.

Even though I don't consider it to be special, I still have one in my garage. Thankfully Honda knows that there's room for improvement it seems..

As long as this CR doesn't turn out to be an A-spec POS in the end then maybe I'll believe the CR to be special, only a few more weeks to find out.

oh no no don't get me wrong, there's is def. room for improvements here with the s2k across the board I believe too... But to me the AP1 is very special in what it is and what it achieves... And yes, I too hope that the 'CR' version isn't a flop and has some valid improvements...

I simply think your comparo of the ITR vs. S2K is a bit off in saying the ITR will SPANK an S2K with equal drivers...

I wasn't very impressed with the '00 ITR that I spiritedly drove... No, it wasn't on a track or in an event or timed or anything, but driving both back to back... I'll keep my AP1...

That's not completely true... if the driver is not experienced well enough in the other type of car then it reasonable to assume that said driver could turn a slower time. It seems maybe that Dave-ROR is just better at driving his Integras than rear wheel drive cars, I don't know because I don't know him. Just a thought...

Well, a couple of weeks remain until its unveiling at the NY auto show. I'm seriously considering making the trek down to NYC for the day to have a look-see. Honda is amazing; not a single picture has leaked yet, has one?

I'm not sure if this is significant, but perhaps it means that the CR is really a "factory" product and not some marketing scheme cooked up by AHM. If it's true that they've made engine tweaks to achieve another 20HP (as the rumor mill has stated), then this probably would be coming directly from Japan.

Anyway, looking forward to seeing it.

Don't believe everything you hear. I'd wait for the pics to come out instead of heading to NY
