No blue top for me. The blue paint is feminine enough, and the blue top would just be gay.

I have started driving with the top up more this summer, since the heat index is in the 100's. When it's that hot, my beer won't stay cold long enough to get home.

Drive faster.

I do think it's interesting, however, that the wear marks on your top are several inches higher than mine.

Does anyone know if the frame folds differently on the MY00-01 vs the MY02-Up?

Yes they do. Part of the conversion has us adjusting the frame to accomodate the glass and not hit it with the frame when folded.

(As far as I understand, that is.......since I haven't done the conversion yet)

Hey gernby -

I was just about to post a similar thread asking if anyone else had the same problem as I. I guess you did, and posted it in pics 2 and 3. The weatherstripping under the rear glass snags against the side 'flaps' 50% of the time I put the top up. Very aggravating. Now every time I put the top up, I have to walk around to the back of the car and push that piece underneath the flap. It happens on both sides, but so far not both sides at the same time... Anyone else have this happen to them? So far, no wear holes, but I'm sure that's not far behind...

Modifry says in the link you provided (thanks, BTW, I bookmarked that one!) that he'd only successfully done this to the older cars with the plastic rear windows. He wasn't sure if it would work with the glass rear window.

Personally, I don't see that it would make much difference, however, you never know.

Do you know if he's confirmed that this is an Ok mod for those of us with glass rear windows and if not, please let us know how your modification works out. My car is still very new and as far as I can tell, the top works perfectly. I'm only thinking ahead, just in case.

Steve R.
I just installed the new straps that I got from Modifry. They went on just like they were supposed to, so I don't know of any reason why it would matter whether you have a plastic or glass window. Unfortunately, the new straps didn't fix the way my top gets snagged on the rear glass when I put the top up...

Here's a picture of my top (A MY '00). From this pic vs. Gernby's below, you can see the are where Honda reinforced by adding an extra layer. Also, you can see some sort of spring which is in the '02+ models which are not in the '00.

One of my holes...

And for those that have wondered, here is Silverknight's fix method:

I think I found the reason why my rear window fabric is getting hung on the window. The velcro strip that is glued to the back side of the material has come loose on the side where the problem occurs.

For reminders...

Here is what the velcro lining is supposed to look like...

Here is the strip that has come loose...

For you guys that are having the same problem as me (Sleepy), is your velcro coming loose? I'm planning on gluing the strip back down tonight when I glue my patch in place (the 300mm X 300mm Honda fabric just arrived).

BTW, I don't know if the velcro strip coming loose is the cause of the window getting snagged on the fabric, or if the window getting snagged on the fabric caused the velcro strip to come loose. Any ideas what the velcro is for?
