I think I agree with vroom. I learned my lesson a few years back on a 25mph curve on a summer day, entering it around 55mph. About ten seconds later the car came to a stop upside down on the side of the road. I crawled out without even a stretched muscle, but that turned out to be a very expensive mistake.
Since then, I'm much more attuned to tire adhesion, inclement weather, and accepting the risk of the unexpected. I've also learned to see how we gradually get acclimated to speeds. That 25mph curve I used to take at 35mph... then 40mph when I was comfortable... then 45mph... and so on. I just kept getting more and more comfortable, until one day I went too far. Speeding is exactly the same way. If you take the same curve at 35mph for three months without a problem, cars like the S2000 will start encouraging you to try 40mph. That's what gets us ALL into trouble. You have to be vigilent.
I don't know if this is possible for a 16 year old. Maybe it is. I certainly wasn't quite that sophisticated. It took a rollover in a brand new $27k car (that I paid for) at 23 years old for me to really understand that I alone am ultimately responsible for my driving behavior.

Barry, I have nothing to say, looking at this like that is really an eye opener, looking at only those threads and trying to understand a persons mind set, I would draw the same conclusions. At the same time that just shows me how little you know of me. So until you do please don't make it such an open and shut case. Under these circumstances you don't really have a much of a choice. As much as you do know of me i would agree and understand what your trying to say by your posts, 17yoa punk + s2k = drive ending in me hanging upside down. But I ask you if you had travelled down such a road what would have been the outcome? I'm not trying to make this a battle its just hard to sit and watch my character be degraded among peers I admire and respect.
Vroooom- I can say I know I'm responsible for my actions alone, but only time will tell that, I plan on repairing my S2000 and or buy a new S2000

You could say that same about me getting t-boned. Or the guy that spins out and hits a curb, even the guy that pulls into a parking space too far and smashes his bumper/lip into the curb.
Accidents happen.
