Default Finally got my Comptech exhaust!!

Took forever to get, but was worth the wait. It is one of the nicest looking systems that have seen being that I have not seen other manufacturers. Took about an hour to put on. (BTW, the rubber hangers were a PITA). Sounds great, almost like the old Ferrari 328's with the Monza tips but deeper. Seat of the pants feel is just like what the Comptech dyno shows, you can feel a difference from 6k rpms on up. Seems louder driving a slow speeds than the highway so far and the sound is throttle dependent. Comptech's instructions say that this exhaust needs to burn in and will smell. They weren't kidding, it smells like a fried clutch. Put about ten miles on it and the odor is subsiding and I think I can feel more power as the exhaust burns in, or could just be my imagination since the sound is changing. The only issue I have is that one tip(driver side) sticks out about a 1/4" farther than the passenger side, and I only notice this up close to the car standing by the trunk and there is no adjustability. I will call comptech to see if this is normal. Don't know if other aftermarket systems are similar. Probably didn't notice this with the OEM system since the tips do not come out as far.

Now I am just waiting for the Comptech intake. Should be an orchestra of sound when that is on.

congratulations on your new exhaust. i'm sure you will love the intake when you get it. i have the comptech cai on my 02 spa and it is great. it has a deep growl and is much more responsive than the stock air box, IMO.

great to hear David! and glad it meets your sticker of approval so far.

now that you have 10 miles on the exhaust, that must mean you have 610 miles on the car? =D

Schatten, actually 837. I have actually had time to drive it. BTW, I fell the power increase with a passenger in the car. R, can you call Ben @ comptech for me and ask about the slight difference in fit from pass side to driver side?

David, you aren't the first that I have noticed about this exhaust. Mine seems to be 1/4" or less exhaust sticking out on the drivers side also. Its only slightly noticeable when you are standing above the trunk, but it does annoy me, let me know what Comptech says. If you like the noise now, wait until you drive through a tunnel.

I made some sound clips this afternoon. Schatten and I will attempt to upload early next week. Did a recording with my laptop in the car.
