First oil change
Most cars these days can be considered used under harsh or severe conditions. Unless you are a travelling salesman driving extended miles on one trip, you shouldn't use the "normal" schedule. As for storage through the winter, I have a friend who is real anal about this sort of stuff and he puts in the cheapest oil he can find for winter storage just so he doesn't have the used "acidic" oil sitting in there. Since our cars burn oil as much as they do when new, one can assume that contaminants are also going the other way past the rings and into the oil making it quite acidic. I stored my motorcycles when I had them and I did NOT change oil for winter storage. They didn't seem to suffer much from this "abuse".
