Super easy to work on. Lots of room in the engine bay, most things are easy to access, and limited "covers" like some modern engines that are a sea of plastic.

started working on my s2000 after purchasing, its fairly easy. everything is easily accessible.
only tough thing i've run into is inside the car. small, tight, cant run wires from dash to glove box.

This. I agree, easiest car I've ever worked on. You know how when you work on a car, and things are way more difficult than they should be, all because some engineer that probably never worked on a car before put something smack in the way, that could easily have been done much better? I don't really ever find that with the S.

Sure, some things are difficult, like upper starter bolt, but its not made harder because of silly engineering design. It really is like they built this car to be worked on.
