hard to shift into 1st and reverse
i also had the similar problem with my 02. so what i do now before the first engine start, i pushed the clutch all the way down, shift to 3rd, then 4th, then 1st, last is reverse.(if you need to backup on your driveway) if not, i just put 3rd, 4th, 1st, then go. sometimes i also like to go through all the gears before i take off

i dont have a problem doing that... BUT it shouldnt act that way... atleast my last 01 s2k didnt do that... im changing the fluids tomorrow and ill update and let you know if it has gotten better
Rake through a couple of gears first befor trying 1st and reverse. I think many people who have been driving stick shifts do this rather automatically even though it may be unnecessary. Come to think of it, I'm not sure weather I do this or not. If I do, its just an unconsious manuver. Not a bad habit to have BTW.
I am currently using the amsoil tranny fluid, and let me tell you, I wont be using it again. I am going to switch to the Honda MTF for sure. It takes waaaay too long for this fluid to warm up. Its difficult to get into first until its warm, after about 50 kilometers. Honda MTF for tranny fluid is the only way to go!

I have experience with amsoil with previous cars, but it sure isn't the cure for every car. Sometimes, good ole' plain fluids from the dealership is the only way to go.
