For a reference, here are some different skidpad ratings...

CR: 0.95 g
AP1: 0.91 g
AP2: 0.89 g
Ford Contour: .84 g

Go drive an AP2 and a Ford Contour back to back (0.05 g difference) and then tell me that 0.95 is pretty close to 1.00 gs...
The CR pulls 0.99G on the skidpad - R&T got this figure in one of their tests (CR vs. Nismo 350Z)

I'd say thats pretty close to 1G

When I bought my 2007 S2000, I was really hoping it would be the last year because I knew at the time the S2000 was underpowered and other cars in its class has improved and is better than the S2000. But I still wanted it hoping that it was a classic at its time and still is fun to drive. But with Honda continuing the car, its just so sad.

My S2000 is an under 2l, I-4 roadster. The other cars in this class have indeed improved, but name me just ONE that has caught up.

The MX-5 still has a long way to go to catch up. What else is in the same class?
Nada.

The uber wing/drag chute on the back.

It's like having sails deployed on a boat and trying to motor against the wind.

The s2k has a great motot and I am not denying it but I am not going to worship a car that has barely seen any performance upgrades in almost 10 years the nrelese the CR which IMO is a fucking joke. I have no problem with Honda keeping the s2k the same but I mean seriously if the are going to realease a track ready they need to up the power at least a little bit and for god sake make the exhaust louder. The S2k is way too quiet

Harsh? I wouldnt say that. It is just that Honda has turned the s2k into joke with this new Club Racer shit. I mean they didnt change anything as far as the motor/drivetrain are concerned unless they changed something that I dunno about.
For one they did change the exhaust. It is supposed to be throatier on the CR.

The CR is also faster around a track than any other factory S2K to date from what I understand, so they did increase the performance. They also cut 100lbs of weight = more power via a decreased power:weight. The Motorweek review I recently watched stated the CR was the best track S2K they have ever tested, which is just what Honda tried to do IMO.
