Have you ever been spit on?
Usually just get thumbs up and 'nice car!' Or a "woahhh!!!" From kids where I'm at. If some punk ever did that to me though I'd probably just follow the bus to his stop, get out and spit in his face in front of everyone.
1. Throwing water on someone is considered either assault or battery; If I remember my high school law, assault is the threat to do something, and battery is the doing it.
2. I still remember the shame of walking by the outside elementary school's (when they were 1-8)asphalt basketball court, and a guy haulked (sp?) a big one high in the air off the court just as I was walking by. Everyone was laughing. It was fighting time, fortunately for me he apologized and I laughed it off, fortunate b/c he weighted 50# more than I, ha!
3. As a human, a parent, and a middle school and high school teacher, going back and stopping the bus to report it was the right thing to do, if just to talk to the bus driver to find out the school if nothing else.
4. Yes, we all do stupid things when young, and it's getting called on it, and paying a price on it that will keep a kid out of prison, or being killed on the street.
5. I have told students before when they say really threatening things or even put their hands on me (a good way to end up on the floor to wait for security), that they should be glad they are in a school b/c if they act like that on the street someone will make them pay dearly.
6. One of my 8th grade students ended up in jail for 20 yrs. b/c of stupid, and he was a student whose mother was a teacher, and he received much help, but................
