[QUOTE=rocrfella,Oct 1 2007, 06:29 PM]I know heel-toe is essential for tracks, but out of curiosity, how many of you use it for streets? I personally can get by without using heel-toe on the streets, but I do it anyway.

Where did you learn it and how long did it take you to perfect it. I learn from watching Best Motoring and Hot Versions.

As long as you can blip the throttle and get close, without changing the pressure on the brake pedal, then I think you've mastered the skill.
I guess that makes me a jedi-master of heel-toe.

been doing H-t since i learn how to drive stick, there's nothing to it, just do it often enough and you'll get the hang of it.

i do it everyday, not even when i am "in the mood" it just something natural and it feels strange not to do it sometime.

practice makes close calls =)

the pedals in the S is just right, except you wear a size 12 like me , probably the weired x bone chassis, i have much more room in my miata for H-t

I do that sometimes too. Weird For some reasons I just don't let go of the clutch, but I still downshift and blip the throttle.
same here..

LOL, really, what more do you need to be able to do?

As long as you're close enough to get an easy shift, you're close enough.

Rev-match on the street most of the time, but when coming to a quicker stop or a turn I most often h&t like I'm on the track. Gotta love the sound of the rev match, it usually gets a few looks from pedestrians who probably think I'm an ass and don't understand.

Rev matching is increasing the throttle while downshifting.

25mph in 5th gear is far lower RPMs then in (for explanation purposes) 2nd gear. To compensate, with the clutch disengaged, rev the RPMs to approx where they would be for 25mph in 2nd gear and then allow the clutch to engage.

Sounds like you're being an asshole because you're revving the engine.

can't do heel-toe due to my legs' structure (no kidding here).
u know when ppl sit they sometimes relax by putting their right leg on their left leg or vice versa. I can't do that either. dunno what's wrong with my bones lol.
