Thanks for jacking everyone's insurance rates! Fraud is just as bad as vandalism in my book!

Is it fraud for sure?

Maybe he got a quote at his ins. co's "preferred" body-shop which was on the high side and then found a better deal after he received the check. How should we feel about that?

If it was a chevy go to the dealer- find out if they will help you.Their service department can pull the vehicle if it has ever been there.

OK, I made a few calls today. First I called the police and filed a report. Then I had to go get an estimate to send them. The estimate was $1065. Now I have to go pick up some paperwork and fill it out and take it to the witness to fill out (Who is about 45 min away from where I live).
Then a detective will be assigned to the case or however that works.

I also called the insurance company and I am pretty sure it will be covered, I just have not got the 100% yes yet. I am waiting on the claims department to call me back.

I also have to talk to the adjuster since I am trying to sell my car and see about calculating in the depreciation. Hopefully they will do that.

All in all, this is a big PAIN IN THE AZZ.

I suppose technically that would not be fraud, but if the insurance company is paying out more than is required to repair the car, we are paying for it in our rates.

i tend to park close sometimes just so people dont see my car as much. parking far away might be safer from dings but a$$holes like those might do shat like key it.

dude what about the DMV in texas. i thought it was 15 bucks to get their info unless they had searches blocked on their info.

Man the assholes who did this should be shot...If this happend to me the DMV had better not tell me who they were or they would be answering to the barrel of my 12 gage.

Good luck with the repairs, sorry you have to go through all this bullshit because of some jelous assholes, driving a busted s10.
