see, that's what I was trying to tell these haters.

I've seen and driven one with 8k and it really does not make that much of a difference.

obviously you people say it because you read somewhere, blah blah blah, but honestly, if that's your thing, it does not effect safety.

don't say you can't see anything unless you've seen it before or driven one with it!

honestly, I like the 7k myself.

[QUOTE=GTI 20v,May 14 2007, 02:35 PM] A mod that costs a lot, looks stupid, and reduces functionality?

Oh, ok. So I guess scientific facts don't mean jack anymore....

Whatever, knock yourselves out with your 681200000000K capsules, I guess we'll read your posts 2-3 years from now on how you couldn't see jack sh.it and you regret it bla bla bla. Keep an eye out for the dogs darting across the street those trees at night guys.

Some people just never listen to friendly advices.
Oh, well.. As long as you're happy with it..
Good luck.

its cool bud. do as you wish man. most of these people are stating facts, and everyone is stating opinions. just go with your own.

as for facts, trust me i know the difference with/with out projectors D2R/D2S, etc. 3 days a week i build HID projector headlights. here is my website: http://www.izntrbl.com/
half of my customers already know the pros and cons to any "K" over 4300. all the others, i tell them to just take the OEM 4300K i supply and if they still want more blue or more purple, they can get the junk HID bulbs off of ebay, or i can modify the cut off shields inside the projectors.

the proper way to get more color out of your lights (for other people to see) would be to modify your cut off shields inside your projectors. by doing this, you change the focal point between the shield and the lenses, and everyone will see much more blue/purple light output, but you still keep the nice white light output on the ground as you drive. buy doing this, you loose just a little of the razor sharpness of the cut off line (but im sure you dont care about that), and possibly a little bit of the width, but not enough for you to notice.

just to give you an example of a modified cut off shield i did on a set of projectors for a customer of mine, you will see the light output onto the house, and straight on unmodified, and modded.....

unmodified:

modded:

let me know if you have any questions.

Oh, ok, that's what I thought. Modifying the S projector is super easy, all you have to do is add 1-2 #8 washers under the sheild to get more blue/violet color band. And it actually sharpens it a bit more with a washer.
