I have a friend that seems to think his BMW Z3 1.8! will beat my s2k! i know the performance figures

BMW Z3 1.8 - 9.8 sec 0-100
Honda S2k - 6.2 sec 0-100

another friend has a Merc SLK 230 and knows that the s2k will beat it, only by 1 seci admit though.....

.....but he guy with the BMW when i showed him the facts on paper still wouldn't believe me and said it was the drivers fault and began to say if my mother drove an s2k and he drove the BM who do you think would win? i'd say obviously the s2k and he'd say whatever. then there would be alot of pointless arguing. Then he said something about if i drove the BM i wouldn't drive it as fast than if i drove the BM

Is there some way i can get it accross to him that it is up to the car with some part driver, even if you did a bad take of in the s2k it will still over take the BM after the 1/4 mile right?

Thanks!

Well it's kind of hard to compare. I always think automatics are the easiest to compare since you can't blame the driver as much. (stupid reaction times!

With a Z3 1.8. Just laugh at his face and leave. If you two were similarly skilled you would need to make a lot of mistakes to lose to him on straightaways anyways.

My lawyers will be contacting you about your handle

In the meantime, your friends on crack! The Z3 1.8 is a bit of a joke. Your friends just bummed 'coz he paid 10K more for an oversized elf shoe that gets left in the dust by a Hyundai Excel. Just ignore the ignoramous.

Or better still, go to a track, lay some bucks down, then run rings around him.

This was in Orlando during the spring (last year) with a zero rpm launch and spacers still installed (oops!).
Sorry for the poor performance but this was my first time.

No! It was a 1/4 mile. Those are reaction times (I think). I don't remember what that run time was but my best one that day was 14.710 @ 94.35 MPH not very impressive.

Have you try press the gas padel all the way in? or press it really hard. That should accelerate your car pretty fast.

hahaha, just kidding. On the serious note, I found myself either spinning the tire too much or not enough RPM when launching my car. It is a skill that I don't possess.
