I'm not into the bling bling thing, but I don't think changing out the hose was nearly as big of a mistake as not paying attention to your guages. It overheated because you kept driving it without coolant. I've had plenty of old cars and trucks (stock) that have lost coolant for various reasons, and I haven't EVER had any damage from it.

well look guys he did the compression test and said that there wasn't enough compression to even start the car and yes there was coolant in the oil i havent cracked the case yet to see what was totaly wrong but when he did the leak down test seemed like air was blowing out of the the radiator hose off the block and in this case it could be either pressure was being lost in the combustion chamber into the coolant passage which could mean a messed up gasket, cracked head, or in the block highly dought that though. but anyways im getting a new motor and will be doing it right this time!!!!!

chan,

How old are you? No, don't tell me. I hope that you learn from this. I've had similar problems in my lifetime. Each and every time I learn something more about material things, myself and F*&king assholes.

Learn as much as you can about this and live large.

ps. I'm thinking you need a fresh engine in your house.

Peace

Sad what this board has come to. One of the reasons people buy Porsches instead of Hondas is the same reason people shop at Bloomingdales and Saks instead of K-Mart,....the people they come in contact with have a bit more class. This board is starting to reflect the fact that used S2000s have become affordable to anyone.
Class and money don't go hand in hand. I've found more often than not that it usually works the other way around. One's socioeconomic class usually only determines the size of the cookie jar your hand gets caught in.
Having a few extra bills or zeros on your bank statement have nothing to do with your moral or ethical integrity. While i agree that screwing over HONDA is quite immoral, it has nothing to do with shopping at saks versus k-mart

Hey Bieg, stop jumping to conclusions. S2kchan never said that he WASN'T going to pay for it himself nor was he complaining that he's going to take a loss because of this situation. He also never said that he's going to go have Honda cover it under warranty.

This is all he said regarding the money issue...
"this guy is saying that it COULD be up to like7000 to fix but if its the head how much do you think that it will cost for a new head and should i just go all aftermarket part once it is apart?"

Hey s2kchan, for $7000, you should be able to find a used F20C motor out there. You should take up OneQuickS2k's offer for the long block. He's a cool guy. Also, you should look into VaporS2k's motor that he's selling like mwy23 said.

Kudos to Kodokan, OneQuickS2k, and mwy23 who actually tried to help the guy.

"To the people who run this board,....It truly is going downhill everyday." Bieg, you're not helping.

Ok
the haynes manual for my ex-truck said that you can check for block warpage by taking some simple measurements with the head off by measuring diagonally and as well as a few other dimensions. I'm not 100% sure but you might want (like others have said) to get a second opinion of find how out how you can measure it yourself. I would be suspect if the guy said you have a warped block and has not taken off the head.

Oh and my 93 prelude had a massive coolant leak (i.e. puntured by a stick that went through the radiator at 80mph) and the car overheated badly before i was able to pull over and shut down.. so bad lights on the dash were blinking... lots of smoke and the engine was bucking.. 30,000 some odd miles later the car was still running like a swiss watch (ok more like a timex) with 0 problems, 0 oil leaks

I could have gotten lucky but someone might be trying to swindle you. I imagine you do have some severe engine damage but do some homework on finding out yourself or finding someone you trust who can verify that severe of a problem.
