I spent 2 1/2 years looking for mine. In the end it was worth it, but there were times when I thought about giving up.
People suck sometimes, I found plenty of cars that I wanted, but turned out to be messed up.
A friend of mine told me his friend was selling his Type-r. The motor was fully built with a 12+/1 CR. He had Koni Yellows, Stock rims, OEM lip kit, the car was beautiful. I found out that he had bought it off of my other friend who's brother slammed it pretty hard into a parked car, my friend demanded it be totaled but the insurance company refused and rebuilt it and he sold it without telling. I did the honest thing and told the owner what had happened to it, but felt like shit backing off after telling him I would buy it.
You have to do what's best for you.

This aint no antique Ferrari.
No but every time I found a car it was either overpriced or ****ed up. I blew the engine in my last car and had to suspend the search for 6mo...... it was like Murphy's law searching for this car, right until I found it.

Hello all,
I've been patiently looking for a clean S2000 for a while now. I'm located in Canada so my options are limited. I've been looking in the Pacific NW and western Canada for a vehicle that suits my criteria. I thought I finally found one within Canada. I spoke to the seller several times over the phone and e-mailed him even more. After all these conversations I felt his car would be perfect. Since his car was located 450 miles away I hired a very competent mechanic to look it over for me. The mechanic did a full inspection on the car and reported back that the car (a 2002) had been re-painted front to back. Not only that, several body panels did not match up. The front end was badly out of alignment and couldn't be aligned much further. His conclusion was that the car had been in a frontal collision but he wasn't sure how severe it was. Based on his observations (there are even more bad points that I haven't posted here) I decided to walk away from the car. I sent an e-mail to the seller telling him I was no longer interested.
The seller sent me an e-mail asking why I didn't want his car. He stated in his e-mail that he knew the car had been re-painted but that everything else was fine. I point blank asked him WHY THE #### he didn't tell me the entire car had been re-painted!!!! I said that if I had known this I would not have pursued this any further. I have yet to hear back from him and don't expect I will.
Man, I'm pissed right now. Why are people dishonest like this? I'm willing to pay a market price for a vehicle that matches the year, condition and mileage I'm looking for. Why are there scum bags that wish to take advantage of hard working, honest people like me who just want to spend the few "leisure" dollars they have on a small personal luxury??????
Sorry to whine and complain but I just had to vent about this. Please go back to your regularly scheduled activities, whatever they may be.
Thanks.

I don't know about you, but while I understand that "that's all just part of life," being told that does help me feel any better while I'm pissed off.
And like you, venting helps.
But do be thankful about one thing... That you had the foresight and opportunity to find the information that you did. This issue is small compared to the headaches that car could have given you in the future.
And don't feel bad, it took me several months to find an S2000 I was willing to take and I was shopping for a NEW one. Sometimes it's good to be picky.
