Good one AusS2000. I don't see what's bad in having the production continue. I bought the car because it's awesome, not because it was supposed to be limited. I hope H onda is still producing this car ( or an improvement upon it ) by the time I'm ready to trade it in.
Driving the stook makes me do this ... öÉ

Vain people buy a car so that others will look at it.

Selfish people would deny others the chance to share this experience so that they might own a rarity.

At the end of the day we've got a lot of gullible, vain, selfish people who are upset and talking badly about treacherous dealers. Sounds like everyone got their just desserts to me.
Well stated!

It is not the dealer's fault if you make a bad deal. If you pay too much (in your own opinion), that's your fault. If you don't check all the facts and specs before you lay down your money, it's your fault. It's a big game: The dealer's job is to get as much of your money as possible and your job is to not spend any more money than necessary to get what you want.

It is not Honda's job to protect you from making what you determine later is a bad deal. It is not Honda's job to limit production of a vehicle that's making money for the company. And it's not Honda's job to even bother with the whiners who believed something that Honda never said about the car only being built for one or two years.

It's your job to live in the real world and take responsibility for your actions, and if your "Oh, man

Then we have a problem, to give false information to sell or mark up a car is wrong, and being Honda Dealerships, I think Honda should be held responsible. I know of people who paid 10+ over msrp, and another year of production, or who knows 3 or 4, can be really bad. Yes yes, I know its a great car, and everyone should be able to drive it, but hey, whats wrong with having something not everyone can get their hands on?? well thats what i thought i was buying, but i guess i was fooled, shame on Honda dealers who lied to me and everyone else. I say we put a letter together to Honda of America, explaining how we have been HAD, cause when i walk into a Honda dealership i want to be comfortable believing what they are saying. The sales tactics used on the S2000 are completely opposite of that.

It's really not corporate Honda's fault that you (and others) were uniformed buyers!! Ignorance is no excuse. It's common knowledge that dealers lie, and no that doesn't make their actions justifiable. If you have a problem with it, you need to take it up with the person (or dealership) that lied to you -- not corporate Honda! Like I said before, I've been following this car for awhile and the 2002 models are ZERO surprise to me!!

For what it's worth, the car is still produced in relatively small numbers. I live in the home of the Z3 and I seem many more Z3's and Miata's than I do S2K's. I paid over MSRP for my Spa Yellow and am very happy with it. The dealer I bought from only gets one a month so its pretty tough to get and there's no reason for them to discount. The car still gets its share of looks. Just wish they had stopped the Spa Yellow for 2002. Be thankful for what you have people.

Yes you are, and your trust was actually placed with the dealership!

And im selfish cause i dished out 30+ thousand and dont want everyone to have what i have? well ya i guess im selfish, but i bought the car thinking it will be something i can keep as a rarity, not something ill see on the road everyday, if i wanted that, thers plenty of other hondas
I paid 30+ thousand for my car, but I'm not selfish! Do you have any idea how many Accords Honda sold last year? What about Civics? And S2000s? I suspect you are clueless on this information as well!! Honda sold about 400,000 Accords, roughly 300,000 Civics, and less than 7,000 S2000s in the 2000 calender year. Do you see the difference in numbers? This car is still limited production...

Well put Aus2000 and STL. I love my car and that is why I bought it. I wanted a covertible that is good looking, fast and affordable. To be honest, my dealer originally tried to sell it at 10K over MSRP and I wouldn't have that.(ended up talking him down to $2500-$3000 over) He never said anything like there won't be any 2002. He did say that the production numbers in the US will be under 8000 a year. So far so good. Others should get to enjoy this car, and as has been said before 7,000 compared to 400,000 is still limited. Like I said before, in 5 years I'll trade it in for the 2006 Honda S2000 with the 2.6L 312 HP engine
