I'd like to see the differecne between 4.77 and stock. And a stock boxster S is considerably faster than a stock S2000 so you may be even with a stock boxster S with some boltons and the diff swap. My car would already feel insane with just the stock 4.10 since the factory rear end is 3.23

What would be great information would to get a dyno for someone who has a new FD, and match that over time, in all gears. Then, we can compare that same dyno to a stock, and possibly a sc'd/turboed S.

From a dig, I would expect the geared S to pull on stock. If, you had the cars start in the same gear rolling, of course, the geared S will pull. You would get the same results if you were to put an stock AP1 vs. AP2 due to gearing differences (not accounting for the lower redline...that's a different thing to factor in.).

However, from a roll, as you can see from the graph, it's about being in the correct gear. Since you don't change the amount of power/tq being produced, but the time (rpm) the torque is applied, correct gearing/driving becomes more important.

Now, get a geared SC'd/turboed S...that's a different story.
yes but the owner said from a roll there is nto really any gain to be had onyl from a start, if thats the case i'll probbaly skip gears.

well I was debating gears vs ECU but since I like to go form a roll 20-60 start then ECu looks like it is winning
if you think that an ECU will do better on a roll starting between 20-60 than the gears will, you'll find yourself losing to geared S2k's.

that is utterly and completely incorrect.

the higher the speed you START FROM, the less the difference is. However, unless you START from about a 100mph roll, you will still pull the entire way to redlining 6th gear.

from a 50-60mph roll, I can still put about 3 cars on a stock S2000 to 100 or so.
