Default Just literally came back from driving 06 S2K

Hi all I have been lurking for sometime and I have been faced with choosing between the Z and the S2K as my next vehicle. I decided to go to the stealership this morning and had a really cool sales guy to deal with told him I wouldn't be purchasing until after the first of the year and he said lets go for a drive anyway. Now as I have been reading on this site about everyones concern regarding the drive by wire and mine as well having come from an Acura TSX where the drive by wire was horrible I could shift faster than the car could respond and there ended up being a delay when shifting and even surging at times. We went for about a 25 minute testdrive in the new blue and I ripped through the gears multiple times and I was really surprised, I could not detect the drive by wire presence at all and being a very in tune to these kind of things person I was really impressed they seem to have got it right and the car was really fun to drive I have yet to drive the Z so we shall see, the car is really tight inside though my only concern. Anyway seems as if Honda made a conscious effort to get it right.

Anyway great site and maybe in the spring I will be an owner

I'm glad to hear that. I too am in the market for the s2k '06 and was concerned about the DBW, even though my current ride is DBW.

I hope to be able to test drive one myself.

Are there any adjustments that can be made to the response, like a sport mode?

I saw an '06 yesterday, this is what i noticed...

Details, details...

1st. Wheels look much better in person but could have still been a little better
2nd. The silver console is now black chrome
3rd. the radio door is now black chrome as well, although not as dark as the console.
4th. There is now a two level storage area under the dash in the passenger side(the dash has been cut at the same level as the top of the radio roor to do this, so there is now a lip to it.
5th. center vents under the dash are smaller to accomidate the airbag light.
6th. The VSC is on the dash where the old defroster button was
7th. New air filter
8th. New leather on the seats is UGLY, textured, and feels EL CHEAPO but will probably hold up better than ours in the long run.
9th. The seats are comfortable with the new headrests but visually they just do not look right.
10th. because of number 9, the roll bars now dont look right with the seats.
11th. the door latches have also been changed to black chrome, interesting though, the bezels around the door handles weren't.
12th. Steering wheel (duh)
13th. the hooks behind the seats are gone. its just a flat plastic piece there now.
14th. New horn, or maybe a new horn location.

Thats all i can think of now but if something new pops into my head, ill let u know.
