Lately we've been concerned...
Can we cut the crap? The truth of the matter is that the new members and owners are what drives this place. They are who keep it fresh and alive. Don't begrudge them the same opportunity you had when you first got your car to be enthusiastic and in love. You may not sleep in the garage next to your baby anymore but that doesn't mean others don't have the same right to do it.
The posts are repetitive and yet not of the same quality? The truth is that they are the same posts and of the same quality as the first time around. Just because it bores now that you've seen it a million times doesn't mean that a new member who hasn't feels the same way.
Asians, Asian cars and Asian culture are here to stay. This is just a simple fact of life. I'm not much into rice paper screens, black enamel and mother of pearl personally but then I don't think my Chinese counterpart is all that keen on french colonial architecture or Victorian furniture either. If this is truly a problem then buy a Buick, get old and sour and pine for the good old days.
I would no sooner put spoked wheels and chrome trim on my S2000 than I would a carbon fiber hood but to think I have the right to tell someone they can't is ludicrous. It's not an E-type jag and thank God for that. My car actually starts without having spray ether into the carb and I my electrical system doesn't melt down when I turn on the heater. The fact is the E-type was a piece of crap by todays standards. It's a symbol of an era in auto design, it's not a good car.
Free speech is a great concept but I think you can agree that in practical terms some things are better left unsaid. People occasionally forget that and then the moderators need to step in and correct their error in judgement. Fortunately it doesn't happen often and I hope things stay that way.
I seriously doubt that most of what's been said here would have been if you had to look the other people in the eye as you said it. Do you often call fat people disgusting pigs to their faces? Have you ever gone up to an owner of one of these batmobiles and said "Hey buddy, your car looks like a piece of shit.". Unlikely. Instead we write anonymous messages and inject them into cyberspace knowing that you don't have to feel like crap for hurting someone's feelings or getting your ass kicked or both. How courageous. I think you all need a cold shower and a dose of courtesy and humility.
In case you haven't figured it out yet, red is the fastest color. Play nice.

Rick - aren't you the guy who developed the dual colored steering wheel? that is just about as ricey as those body kits.
I personally do not like any of the body kits or the awful looking steering wheels.

It is only when people become elitist, judgemental and lack respect for others that things get out of hand. Three lessons from this thread are:
1. Think before you speak.
2. Spend as much time listening as speaking.
3. To each his/her own.
Can I stick a proud parent sticker on Neb's bumper, or would that offend everyone's aesthetic ideals?
Just kidding, really!!!

Oh, and anyone who doesn't remove their windshield tape should go join the "spa" sect!
Just kidding, again, really!!!

Suzuka rules!!!
