While no mechanic can fix this problem, an Exorcist can. PM me for references

What if...you unlock, open door, unlock again (I do it out of habit) . Will the door lock then? If you unlock it while the door is open...?

As others have said - it is normal if you unlock the car, do nothing, then it locks itself again.
It is NOT normal if you unlock the car, open a door, and then it locks itself again.

OCD?
Thanks S2k-DC and everyone who tried to help! Obviously I was hoping to give my dealership some guidance. In fact, I already brought it to the dealership. They said they could not duplicate the problem which was total bs because at the end of the day I brought the tech and service writer out to the car and duplicated the problem 4 times in a row.
...and what did they say? I've done that, duplicated a problem in front of two guys to have them tell me it's normal. Tell them to find another on the lot, and to make the two (the other S2000 and yours) the same. I'd be happy even if they made the other lock like yours...at least it's some satisfaction.
If you ask me, it's one of two things. The door lock logic module is screwing up or the door pin switches are not talking to the module. Maybe I missed it, but you did verify that the dome light goes on when a door is open?
