My longest single day was from Washington DC to the Adirondacks in NY (North Creek) ~650 miles, for the most part I was on backroads and had the top down the entire way. It was 12+ hours. I was very tired the last hour or so.

In one sitting?

The OP is claiming 1300 miles in "one day." Wow. I've never driven from CA to TX, but simple math tells me that you would have to drive 100 mph for THIRTEEN HOURS(!)

Not to mention that if you were driving 100 mph the whole time, you'd probably have to fill up 6 times. So add another hour for that.

So the OP is either the most hardcore person I've ever heard of, to drive 1300 miles in "one day," or I should be flying the flag. Hmmm......
Last year I rented a SUV and drove from San Diego Cali to Dallas Texas with 3 friends, total trip took about 24-26 hours, with very very bad weather. Stopping for gas constantly as we were heavy on the gas.

Longest trip in S, probably from San Diego to Diamond Bar Cali, which is about 1H 45M drive...

Will drive here again soon! =D

Calgary, AB to Seattle, WA... and we went the long way. Top down most of the way. Was about 14 hours of driving in 1 day.

When I traded in that s2000 for my current one, I went with a hardtop as I had grown tired of top down driving after a trip like that

When I bought my new S last year, Picked it up at a Honda Dealer in Houston and drove back to Chicago area, over 1200 miles in about 21 hours. Just stopping for gas and once for a short nap (inside the car) when I got tired. It was a great ride-nice time to bond with the new car.

I did the Dallas to San Diego drive, which was 1300+ miles in two days. First day was 700 miles to Tucson, then 400+ into SD. I had no problems with it at all! The top wasn't down till I hit Cali, so I was getting 28mpg for most of the trip. Only downside was the chip in my windshield I got in hour 2 . Had to look at it and stew the rest of the trip

That's funny, I've done a College Station, TX drive to San Diego drive in just over a day with a stop in Yuma, AZ where I lived for 10 years. We spent the night in Yuma. The drive from TX to Yuma wore me out. I remember leaving about 8am and getting to Yuma around midnight, so 16 hours. I had the cruise on at 88mph on I-10 though. Not sure what the distance was?!??!

Mapquest says 1237 miles. So, an average of 77mph. Seems a little high.... Maybe I left at 7am and got there at 12:30 or so?!?! That would be a more reasonable 70mph.

You must be taking the long way! I'll see you there, if not sooner.

The hardtop is nice if you are doing lots of highway driving.
