If you were going to daily it, i think you prefer the AP2. You have a nice budget as well so finding a 2004+ model shouldn't be too hard. 2006+ have VSA.

If you were going to track it a lot i would go for the ap1.

Hi Dreyer. Welcome to S2Ki and your search for an S2000. There is a thread for inquiries if specific cars are worth buying. Please post there for feedback during your search/buying process.

No one can tell you. Check one out in person and see if it will work for you. It works as a daily for some and not for others. No vehicle is one-size-fits-all.

If its your only car and you're single it will become a pita everytime you need to buy something large. Food for thought

my main issue is will i be able to use it as a DD? i just moved to annapolis maryland and iv been told it doesnt snow much and if it does it no more then an inch.

just like some input from some s2k owners and car enthusiast.

thanks for the time.
I had an 09 WRX stage 2. I didn't think I would like the s2k. Small, slower, trunk the size of a shoe. Then I drove one, 3 days later flew cross country to buy one. I suggest driving one, find one at a local dealer or private seller. Just drive it, ride in it. You will then see if its for you or not.

With regards to the DD. I drive mine in Cali everyday. Yes, it rains once every 3 years in SoCal, but even if you have crappy weather its a good car. Purchased a bike rack, since it clearly does not fit in the trunk. They make racks for everything, so DD the shit out of it!

Every person is different so really think about it what you care about / what bothers you.

I daily drove my first AP1. It was definitely possible and done, but it wasn't easy for me personally. Probably sounds stupid, but for me, it started to become a pain to move big stuff, couldn't fit the hamper in the trunk when I did laundry (switched to a bag and had to cram it in), couldn't fit wheels I was trying to sell in the trunk, girlfriend hated it because it was too low/small inside. Grocery shopping wasn't too bad. Snow was tolerable, but I had to keep my spare AP1 wheels with Blizzaks handy.

My second AP1 is much more mint than the previous and from my previous experience, I decided to buy a second daily driver (cheap used Impreza). One other reason why I refuse to daily drive my current AP1 is because people are careless idiots. I can't park at a parking lot or spot because some careless POS will door ding me or bumper check. And because the car is small, a lot of people don't seem to see you when they're switching lanes or turning onto your street.

Don't get me wrong, I love my S and want to keep it forever, but just some food for thought.
