Check your oil at every fill up, and keep your oil in the range from low to full - don't go over or under, but anywhere in between is fine.

 

very well put. a lot of people are confused of where the actual 5.1 quart level is...its right between the L and H on the X's. so, if you fill to the top X, and that is burnt off, your not a half qaurt low, you've burnt off extra oil. i try not to bring it all the way to the top, just right below the X under H. but like someone else stated...DO NOT let it go below the X's...BOOM!!!!
