I have noticed over the last couple of weeks that the "maint reqd" light blinks for several seconds after ignition. Does this automatically start happening when a scheduled maintence is due or is there a possible problem that it is telling me needs addressing?

Is your odometer closing in on 7K miles? It is normal and you can reset it by following the directions in the following post: https://www.s2ki.com/faqs/faq_maint_light.php.

its the period "." at the end of the URL. that's what goofed it up. second one works. =)

i know that @ 7000mile the maint req'd light is supposed to blink. when is the next time?
