What do you think the orange hoses are? We ran the ducts at Homestead and the brake pads look like they weren't even working hard. I would reccomend the brake disc heat shield delete mod at the minimum for any car that will see track duty...

Big difference

Hey Alex nice to see you have the oil cooler on. Hope you can make it to NASA's Sept 1st & 2nd event. I have talk to the MLR guys to ask them about what class your car would be able to run in. I'll also introduce you to them. As for FARA here is all the info. BTW check out their site MLRMotorsports.com

so remove the brake disc heat shield completely? The ducts I have seen run air through the shield, but the outside of the shield remains. Please explain what you mean, brake ducts are on my "to do" list.

The are some people that believe in those brake shields so they cut a hole in the and attach their ducts to it. I don't see a reason for the shield, it makes the inside brake bad wear faster because it gets hotter. 90% of the heat dissipation on disc brakes is through the disc so why cover up one side completely?

Remove the shield altogether, run your duct to the A-arm and aim it at the center (spine) of the disc for the best results.

I have retained the brake shields in my car for two reasons: 1. to prevent overheating damage to the ball joint boots, and 2. to help channel air to the fornt brake rotors. The front shields have a nicely designed air scoop that works pretty effectively at cooling the fornt rotors, but once you put in the brake cooling ducts, this second point is moot.

I've never noticed an appreciable difference in brake pad wear between the inner and outer pads.
