I'm anal about this stuff too lol. Mine not noticed while purchasing
- 7 self tapping screws for interior
- 4 roll hoop bolts
I imagine they we're not reinstalled by Honda when the top was replaced in 2016.. I replaced them when I ripped the entire interior out for inspection/cleaning after purchase and found them missing.
My biggest peve, which I knew about at purchase, but not the owners fault, when Honda replaced the belt, they broke a tab on the intake box.. literally the only broken zip tab in the whole bay. I've been looking for an WHOLE intake box, literally to not have a broken tab... Lol will likely end up spending 60-100 on an intake just to have the tab back -_-
I cannot stand watching Matt's channel, he knows....pretty much nothing, doesn't really know how to work on his car, and the mechanic/shop he pays also knows basically nothing about the car... its basically a shit-show of all the wrong ways to work on this car. Matt is clumsy and lost when it comes to the s2000... he tries to pull off being a perfectionist, but really he's just a rip off of AMMO NYC(who actually does know his shit when it comes to detailing). If you want a channel that knows their s2000's mechanically, Watch LHT Performance.
Haha he was standing there while someone else was doing the work. He does seem annoying, especially his monotonous voice. I love LHT, I’m sending my car to them for my supercharger install.

LHT Performance is awesome! Love their content. Also it is very hard to find a super clean one like the one you found in your states Deckoz. Everyone here in SoCal for the most part has heavily abused their s2k's. I will not give up though there has to be a clean one somewhere!

Thank you so much MrFunk. You are absolutely right. I will wait until I find a reliable s2k, even though most that I have seen in SoCal have been heavily abused.
lol yep, pretty much, standing, and narrating someone else working in monotone.
I'm still debating if I want to supercharge it, If I did, I would likely get LHT to do an 8lb or 10lb pulley instead of the 12lb for an end 325-375hp. I'm actually debating whether to do the fuel pump on my own, or pre-install a Radium Surge Tank before hand if I decide to take it there, because I don't want the "LHT cut your soft top off to get to the fuel pump, and then replace it with glass special".
lol I want to keep my plastic window, because no built in rear window defroster, and the frame isn't made for the glass window, and my rear window/top is perfect and maybe seen a handful of days outside since it was replaced in 2016, so effectively brand new.
If I do take it to LHT, it will have all the OEM parts for install removed before hand, and stored, and the car would be trailered down to FL. I know LHT takes care of their customers, but I want to ensure I have all OEM parts retained.
My biggest hold up about it all, is while I can grab the plug and play ballade Hondata Kpro kit, none of the ECU options retain the immobilizer functionality. Doctronics and Hondata Kpro both retain obdII though... I am really considering looking into buying a RSX cylinder, and a spare s2k cylinder, and modifying it to make the s2k cylinder RSX immobilizer compatible. Not sure if it will be worth the effort though...
I’m going the KPro route myself simply because my state is not emissions friendly. Emissions test every 2 years and I wouldn’t pass with the AEM. I’ll be going about it in the traditional manner though since I’ll have the valve cover and oil pan off doing my retainers and banjo bolts anyway. I saw the Ballade PnP version but their harness looks like a straight mess of wires; traditional install looks cleaner imho.
My plan is to have the car running on KPro with all of my gauges pre-installed before I bring it to them. I’ll most likely do the fuel pump myself and I also purchased the SOS wiring kit, although not necessary I’ll call it additional insurance as it seems the 255 is right at the edge for a drop-in before requiring hardwiring. I used to do wiring for a living and love making my own harnesses and such. I’ll NEVER T-tap or cut a wire in my car. If I can’t come up with a pnp solution it wasn’t meant to be.
Granted, all this stuff is just a speck on the horizon. I just got the car and will be enjoying it as-is first. Plus buying a home will be taking up all of my spare change for the foreseeable future. Couple years out for me right now on that LHT trip.

When I get the s2000, I wanted to go the Kpro route as well! Can you still make the vtec kick in at 2.5krpm like the Hondata?
My memory is that he reported that he had something like $70,000.00 in the car before he sold it. Yikes.
I lost interest in that channel when he could not reinstall the front bumper cover after working on the headlights. He just gave up in frustration.

Just annoying...Guy has more money than brains....Buys the car, immediately decks it out in top-shelf product (stoptech trophy, Öhlins, toda, LHT kw install) does a few YouTube videos driving the car around, and just sells it. I can’t really judge a man based on YouTube videos but he just seems genuinely disinterested in the simple pleasure of driving cars, instead more concerned with the technicalities and modifying them, but once he’s done all he’s wanted to do he immediately turns loose of the project. I wonder what he sold the CR for. He had a mint silver AP2 before that that he had put some money into as well...

It was kind of odd. I assume he spent very good money to buy that CR from LTD. It was a garage queen. Maybe 8500 miles or so. Perfect shape. He says he hates driving on track. But, he went out and did all this work : supercharger, exhaust (and the exhaust had to be modified to fit), wheels, tires, brakes, clutch, sound system to blow your socks off, etc. He drove it for a short while and toasted the clutch. He immediately started complaining exhaust noise. He had LTD do all the work. Then he sold it almost immediately. Hard to understand.
