is this normal for a s2000 top?
There's a couple of foolproof steps to make sure you top folds flat every time. After unlatching, work the switch with your left hand. With your right, pull the third (rearmost) bar forwards towards the second (middle) bar (this is the one JLUDE is talking about). You can probably grab the two between you thumb and fingers and just pinch them together as the top folds. Then, grab the first (frontmost) bar and make sure it folds back towards the others as the top goes back.
It becomes second nature after you've done it a couple of times, and you can even operate the top motors continuously while doing this. I started doing this after my first top mis-folded and got a small tear in it. You'll even start to notice that there's extra resistance on really hot days (probably cold too, but I don't get many of those).

After looking at pictures of other S2k's i realized my top isnt going all the way down either. I just bought it and had no reference of what a top all the way down is supposed to look like. After reading about those elastic straps, im guessing i shouldnt be able to pull them down easily with one finger like this?
The resistance in the strap is so loose you could hang a christmas ornament on this thing and it would probably sag

Everyone uses these easy to install straps for $20. They all go bad in a few years so you need to replace as the elastic stretches out.
