Always, as a matter of fact I used to track the mileage I recieved, in addition to the pump I used and price per gallon on a spreadsheet. As for now, at about 210 miles on a full tank of gas Im about a gallon to 1.5 away from empty. More of my "Fueling Fears" consist of ALWAYS filling up on pump #3, a superstition no doubt, the ONE time I did NOT use pump 3 as it was out of order just so happened to be the time I got into an accident on the way home from that gas station. Also, I too will jiggle the pump endlessly trying to stop it from dripping evil gasoline onto my cars paint. That and with gas prices these days I need every drop I pay for!!

I DEFINITELY have you beat. In addition to this, thanks to my good friend John (RedDevil2000) I have taken on a time consuming trait of jacking my car up and cleaning the entire undercarraige, frame, exhaust, etc... I also remove each wheel to fully clean the entire wheel (as they are the most expenive mod on most cars, including mine, for now...) and clean/armor all the wheel wells. One of the greatest things I have discovered is waxing my wheels. My last car had white wheels, and anyone with white wheels knows how much of a PITA it is to keep them clean (I actually kept a spare rag in the trunk just to wipe them down each night). Well since waxing my wheels they have never shined as much or been as easy to keep clean!!

With the proper dosage of Xanax and Librium I have successfully overcome most of my compulsive car behavior (CCB). Kidding...

Maybe because I was hit by a LARGE rock dropped by one of those lovely gravel trucks that are so common on highways now, and so have a nice ding on my hood, but I'm not nearly as anal as I used to be about my car. Or perhaps it was because I can still remember the sound of my neighbors laughing last summer as I ran out to dry off my car after an unexpected rain. These days I give it a once-over with the California Car Duster before I put it away, and don't sweat the petty stuff any more. But I still do wipe down my exhaust tips frequently to keep them shiny, nothing says "neglectful owner" louder than dirty exhaust tips!
