ugh...still trying to find that elusive S2000. im looking at the late AP1/early AP2 models and it looks like value is going back up!

Does a MY04 Suzuka w/ 72000mi sound good at $13.9k?

Looks to be in pretty good shape to me - check out the cleanliness of the engine compartment - you don't achieve that with only a periodic shampoo. Next thing I would look out for is 1) door dings (was he/she concerned enough to park way in the far corner of the lot and walk instead of right next to the front door next to Suburbans and Minivans etc.) and 2) the condition of the sidewall carpets in the footwells for cleanliness/wear and tear - floor mats can be replaced and are not a good indicator of the degree of TLC. Clearly check the mechanicals and the condition of the soft top, but on balance this baby looks like it was well taken care of and assuming everything esle checks out ok very well priced Iwould say. Get all the service records if you can - if you can, that provides an extra comfort level about the previous owner. Have fun. And yes the little bubble on the trunk is the satelite radio antenna - this was the standard mounting location when you bought the car from the dealer.

That sounds okay. My coworker recently picked up a MY04 GPW w/ 50k+ miles at around $15.5k. It was repainted, had aftermarket suspension and wheels though. Included the OEM suspension.

I am thinking of purchasing a 09 CPO SK2. I have one main concern, it has 12k miles but the car fax does not show any service history. I am worried that the proper services have never been done. Any other advice?

Best,

Joe

Some Car Faxes don't show services. Ask the dealer if they've been done there. In any case with the amount of warranty left and the low overall mileage, I wouldn't be too concerned.

i agree ^^

though there might not be records, or any service done for that matter, i think you will be okay.

you can change out all fluids if youd like afterwards since i think the dealer will just change the oil, good luck!

The Carfax will show service done at the dealership. Presumably, this car might have been serviced by the owner and not at a service center... dealership or otherwise.

The fact that it has such minimal mileage and no service records wouldn't necessarily deter me. It is a CPO vehicle.

There are more important factors to consider:

Mulitiple owners, paint work, obvious signs of wear... low mileage doesn't mean it was well taken care of.

Ok, cool thanks for the help. It's a one owner and not auctioned. They are asking $28,990, assuming all is well what would be a fair offer to start with and where should I stop?

i dont know how much the dealer will work on since its an 09, but i wouldnt pay more than $26,000. its going to be very hard for them to sell an 09 imo. good luck!
