-Official- Is this car worth it thread
Mileage isn't really an issue if the car was well taken care of. I rather have 150k miles of good care than 40k miles of abuse.
Everything else is personal preference. I chose an AP2 but only because I like it better. There are those who prefer AP1 instead, and that's fine. Get the car you want, and worry less about mileage. After you drive the car for a while, it becomes irrelevant.

! Only thought my story might be relevant to show that mileage DEFINITELY isn't everything! And 60k is pretty young for an S IMHO
even trade? not really. i think the ap1 is more valuable. would i do it, no.
why would you want an ap1 over an ap2? but it isn't trading for the same car either. i feel like the 2003 is the best year for the ap1 and i feel like the 06 is the softest year for the ap2. with that said, the 03 is a track car made to be used of the street and the 06 is a street car made to be on the track. you have one that is raw and rockets on the track but lack the daily use-ability for the street. it lacks low end torque, the flywheel is light, and scary for novice drivers around cornering limits, also it is scary in the rain. and yes, i have driven a ap1 not just once, or for a day, but for about two months i lived with it. it was fun getting on the freeway, listening to the engine climb to 9k. just screaming at you. taking the on ramp at twice the recommend speed limit at 2 a.m. with no one on the road. taking the back road home that is about 5 miles longer was worth it. but city driving was just awful for me. i cant live with the ap1 day to day. the ap2 was just for me. yes it is soft, but it was safe in the rain, it has low end grunt, and easy to handle.
you got to ask yourself, what do i want out of this car? why the ap1 or why stay with the ap2. different strokes for different folks. sure my engine doesn't sound like a rocket but it does rev to 8500 rpm. sure it does handle near as fun as the ap1, but i can get a different suspension setup. do you want a daily driver or do you want something always hyper?
the ap1 is like a 18 or 19 year-old girl. she is hyper, fun, filled with energy and you cant help it but to drive her as hard as can. but being an older gentleman, its hard to bring her around family and friends. kind of like driving an ap1 in the city. sure you can do it, but it takes some getting use to. the ap2 is like a girl in the mid 20's with a real job. still young to have fun but she is civilized and easy to handle. in the end, it is your pick. most cars are like dating relationships. when you get tired of it, get something else.

I'd personally go for the ap1... miles are near the top of my list because within a year and a half I plan on having my S as my weekend/non rainy day car FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE. Or probably until I get married and my wife makes me sell it to buy her a house :/
I like AP1's. But if you already have the 2006, why trade it? Just keep the ap2.. plus the ap1 is suzuka, imo id rather have rio yellow.
As for an even trade.. I don't think it is. Your trading for an older car, even though it has less miles I don't feel that its "even".

Ok..I own the '06..and it's not an even trade...it's my car and $1K but I still owe
$6K on my AP2 and with the finance deal they got me(lower interest rate) it works
out to even basically.
Just drove the AP1 again..the good?
it feels lighter than my AP2..
I love the blue..
it corners great..but no high speed corners so I'm not sure..
I like the stiffer/tighter ride..
I like how it revs so easy..
I like how it appears smaller than my AP2(the AP2 looks like an SUV next to it!)
the bad?
it's not as powerful as my AP2.
my '06 has more low end(or is it the gearing??)
I don't think it would rrespond to 4.44 if I did gear..
no vsa..
not sure?..my AP2 just flat out corners..high speed corners unreal! I'm not
sure if the AP1 can corner as well?
and the bad for my AP2..I've got that tear in my top(patched)..and also some slices(cuts) in
my seat as well...
the AP1 is perfect
