One thing to note on kbb and the hardtop...
kbb says a HT is worth about $800, yet we all know they sell all day long for $2,000 with the installation kit thrown in.
So figure kbb, then add $2,000 for a HT if your even using kbb at all.
Also, kbb isn't always accurate. When I sold my Integra GSR, kbb was quoting $5600 or so, the dealer was going to give me $5K off of MSRP in trade and I sold it outright for $8800 several years ago. Waaaaay over "book".
IMO, bone stock is the safest way to go when you have a vehicle that is high risk for being "beat on". The S2000, EVOs, ITRs, etc... unless your a mechanic, or good friends with one.
The market is interesting with these. You see people buying 120K mile examples for $10K, but balk at paying $12K for one with 60K miles. Personally I'd gladly pay the extra $2K for 60,000 friggin thousand less miles but I guess many people won't. Sometimes it may be cheap to get in, but not so cheap to keep.
Ultimately, take your time and save your money, there are plenty to choose from. The right one will come along

Another AP2 came on the market and not sure if it's worth considering....
Here are the details taken directly from the ad:
White/Tan AP2 2004 Honda S2000. It has a low 55k miles and pretty much all stock except for some suspension upgrades to enhance the already impressive handling. The car comes with Tien adjustable coilover suspension, spoon front struct bar and spoon X brace. The car also comes with a Aftermarker Pioneer MP3 player (car also comes with stock radio). The car looks and drives excellent. The soft top with rear glass is in great condition. The seats are in great condition. The exterior is in great condition with no noticeable issue such as dings, dents, scratches.
Asking price: 11.5K
I'd post pics but haven't figured out how to do it yet (it's much different than other forums.....)

I owned 2 other salvaged cars in the past and had no problems whatsoever with either one.
Hey guys,
I've just started looking to purchase an AP1, but don't really know what mods increase or decrease the selling price of a car. There is a car that I've been looking at that has the following specs:
2001 s2k ~75k
New OEM top (replaced 2 yrs ago)
New OEM clutch +light flywheel ~ $1500
New valve job with the necessary ungrade to valve springs/retainers ~ $3000
new PCV valve 25
new timing chain tensioner 150
new MAP sensor 75
new knock sensor 140
hondata gasket 55
apex exhaust system 700
drive belt 100
OEM NGK laser platinum spark plugs 55
k&n air filter $50
new clutch slave cylinder ~ 100
all synthetic fluids......
(2 dings..3 owners, good condition)
KBB price is 10,6k
The asking price is 12k. What do you guys think? Pull the trigger at say.. 11,5k? Thanks for the advice!
